Following from General Hayes G.0.C. British Troops in China, At Go-ordinating Committee Mooting held this morning following is text of Chinese request.

Chinese request agreement on following points before repcat before the surrondor.

(a) Hong Kong surrendor to take place on 5th or 6th

September and so to follow China Theatre surrender now set for 4th or 5th. Chinese have no objection whatever to flect arriving bofore that date landing troops disarming Japanese setting up civil administration and in fact whatever it likos except formal signing of surrender instrumont.

(b) Copies of all military information received from

They Japanese are to be handed over to Chinese. suggest that information required (? most likely) contained in general order numbor 01 issued by Generalissimo and based entirely on similar ordor by MacArthur. I do not propose to signal details of requiroments since information requirod appears to follow normal (lines) in such cases.

(a) Facilities for embarking of Chinose troops at Hong-

Kong for rodoplaymont in connexion with occupying Japan Formosa otc: Troops to be ambarkod will arrive self contained for food as far as possible.

(a) All Japanese ships capturod in Hong Kong to be handoā

to Chinose. Latter to use them only for coastwise and river traffic Kuangtung province.

(e) All Japanese M/T to be handed to Chinese for use on

road between Kowloon and Canton as railway in badly dama god and will require months to ropair.
